Comes with a million dongles and apparently works with the EDC16 ECU. So far, a tool that is somewhat easy to use and is somewhat affordable is called CARPROG. I am saving up to buy a tool with which I can read the Eeprom via the OBD2 port. This is way more complicated and will not be for the faint of heart. The more difficult way is to actually open your ECU, desolder the Eeprom then mount the Eeprom on a reader or connect it to a reader that can read it desoldered or not. This can be done two ways, the easy way and expensive way, is to use a tool that can read Eeprom Dumps (Eeprom chip info) directly through the OBD2 port, you can then use the software to change the coding on the Eeprom and write it back with the function turned off. You can turn the IMMO function off, and not worry about transponders anymore. If you have the key then you can use Vagcom or Vag Commander to program a new key in. There's a tool on there that reads the PIN for about $80. BigEds Reading Thread incorrect data record :variant monotoring Junior Member Reputation: 4. You can get this code with specialized programs like Vag Tacho (only official and newest does it, not the Ebay versions sold) or other dongle and program combinations sold on Ebay. You can program a new key with a virgin IMMO transponder chip thingy as long as you have the Pin or the SKC code. Here is what I've found so far and I hope it helps folks!
